A solo exhibition by Cassie Thring.
Cassie Thring is a multidisciplinary artist living and working on Kaurna Land. Often working with ceramics, Thring creates sculptural forms that explore her ideas with equal amounts of tragedy and humour.
Ghost Bird celebrates the confluence of loss and hope, through the lens of 8 endangered native birds. The work is inspired by an album of birdsong, Songs of Disappearance, that reached #5 on the ARIA charts in 2020. Some of our most threatened avian species are literally losing their voice out of loneliness, which prompts Thring to ponder whether these birds are singing songs of lament or enduring hope.
