Jonathan George, “Dwelling Shells”
March 10 – April 2

Architecture and shells share similarities in that they both function as containers and shelters for acts of dwelling. To varying degrees, they both carry a trace of the activities and thinking which brought them into being. In these works the shell form becomes a kind of architecture for an individual body.

These works are constructed using materials that borrow from a language found in furniture and architecture to highlight the unique relationship we have with constructing and manipulating our own environments to inhabit. The resulting works operate as both evidence of the process that brought it into being and also a kind of space that can be inhabited.

Opens March 10 6-9pm
This activity is proudly supported by the Adelaide Central School of Art Graduate Support Program.
Opening night wine is provided by Coriole Vineyards.
